Usernames, passwords, and security

Certain features or services offered on or through the site require you to set up a username and a password. You are entirely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of this information. You agree to notify ShuraForAll immediately of any unauthorized use of your username and password, or any other breach of security.

You may not use anyone else's username and password at any time without the express permission and consent of the holder of that username and password. Permitting more than one person to use the same username and password at the same time is highly likely to result in data contamination. ShuraForAll will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with these obligations.

ShuraForAll safeguards the security of the data stored in our system with physical, electronic, and managerial procedures. We urge you to take every precaution to protect your personal data when you are on the Internet. Use a combination of letters and numbers for your password, and make sure you use a secure browser.

Start a shura payment fee

A User who selects the option to Start a Shura is required to pay a fee. There are three types of fees. One where the User decides to pay a $5.00 US dollar fee for starting one shura. Another is for the User who wants to pay $15.00 US dollars for starting an unlimited number of shuras over a 12-month period.

Within the option of starting a shura there is the sub-option to operate a shura as a “Course Shura.” This type of shura is used to offer a training course to participants who register for the course.

A training course can be free or it can require a fee for participation. When a person registers and pays a fee to participate in a course, the payment goes directly to the bank account of the person who started the course, minus any payment merchant (PayPal, Paystack, etc.) transaction fee. ShuraForAll does not deduct any fee for this transaction.

And finally, there is a $15.00 US dollar fee for the User who wants to start one shura for the purpose of establishing a waqf (endowment).

ShuraForAll does not collect any additional fees beyond the Start a Shura fee. When a user starts a shura that is used for establishing a waqf, ShuraForAll does not also collect a fee when a person donates to the waqf.

There is no refund for either of these fees. The User and the participants who have joined the shura will be allowed to continue using the shura for an unlimited time-period.

Acceptable use

ShuraForAll wants the conversations that take place to be energetic, constructive, and thought-provoking. Comments that are mean-spirited or off-topic may be deleted according to the judgment of the person who created the shura. ShuraForAll provides the capability for any shura participant to report inappropriate comments to the shura initiator.

In the case of a Course Shura, ShuraForAll provides the capability for any shura participant to report inappropriate course content and/or poor quality training instruction.

Certain activities, whether legal or illegal, may be harmful to other shura participants and violate acceptable use. As a result, for your own protection and for that of other shura participants, you may not engage in such activities using ShuraForAll. These activities include:

• Posting content that abuses or torments others.
• Posting obscene material that is unlawful under applicable law.
• Using our services in a manner that is inconsistent with applicable law.
• Using our services in a manner that results in poor quality training instruction.
• Disrupting the services by placing an undue burden on the ShuraForAll site or the networks or servers connected with the site.

ShuraForAll reserves the right to remove content that violates acceptable use and/or block a participant’s account for actions that violate these Terms of Use.

Disclaimers

ShuraForAll does not promise that the site or any content, service or feature of the site will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that any defects will be corrected, or that your use of the site will provide specific results. The site and its content are delivered on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis.

All information provided on the site is subject to change without notice. ShuraForAll cannot ensure that any files or other data you download from the site will be free of viruses or contamination or destructive features.

ShuraForAll disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including any warranties of accuracy, non-infringement, merchantability, and fitness for a particular purpose.

ShuraForAll disclaims all liability for the acts, omissions and conduct of any third parties in connection with or related to your use of the site and/or any ShuraForAll services.

Specifically in the case of a Course Shura, ShuraForAll disclaims all liability for the acts, omissions and conduct of the Course Initiator. All Course Shura related disputes are subject to resolution between the Course Initiator and course participants.

Users are solely liable for any content they upload, post, share, or provide through ShuraForAll.org. Users acknowledge and accept that ShuraForAll does not filter or moderate such content.

However, ShuraForAll reserves the right to remove, delete or block such content at its own discretion and, without prior notice, to deny the uploading User access to ShuraForAll:

• upon becoming aware of any (alleged) violation of these Terms, any third-party rights, or applicable law, based on such content;
• if a notice of infringement of intellectual property rights is received;
• if a notice of violation of a third party’s privacy, including their intimate privacy, is received;
• upon order of a public authority; or
• where ShuraForAll is made aware that the content, while being accessible via ShuraForAll.org, may represent a risk for Users, third parties and/or the availability of the Service.

The removal, deletion or blocking of content shall not entitle Users that have provided such content or that are liable for it, to any claims for compensation, damages or reimbursement.

Users agree to hold ShuraForAll harmless from and against any claim asserted and/or damage suffered due to content they provided to or provided through ShuraForAll.org.

You assume total responsibility for your use of the site and any linked sites. Your sole remedy against ShuraForAll for dissatisfaction with the site or any content is to stop using the site or any such content. This limitation of relief is a part of the bargain between the parties.

The above disclaimer applies to any damages, liability or injuries caused by any failure of performance, error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, computer virus, communication line failure, theft or destruction of or unauthorized access to, alteration of, or use, whether for breach of contract, tort, negligence or any other cause of action.

ShuraForAll reserves the right to do any of the following, at any time, without notice: (1) to modify, suspend or terminate operation of or access to the Site, or any portion of the Site, for any reason; (2) to modify or change the Site, or any portion of the Site, and any applicable policies or terms; and (3) to interrupt the operation of the Site, or any portion of the Site, as necessary to perform routine or non-routine maintenance, error correction, or other changes.
